Crayon Stories: Robin's Egg Blue

Ah. Robin's Egg Blue. This, my friends, was the king of all crayons when I was little. Why? Well, not only is it an awesome color, but what amazed us kids was the fact that its name is three words long.

Yes. Three whole words. We would fight over this crayon just because of the word count on its wrapper.

Being the smart ass that I am, I pointed out that I had a crayon at home with four words in its name: World Wide Web Yellow.

Crayon Stories: Violet Purple

Welcome to crayon stories! I have one of those giant, 120 boxes of Crayola crayons. I want to write a little about each color. Just for fun!

Violet Purple

When I was in first grade I did my first color-by-number. One of the numbers called for purple, so I took out my box of crayons, each crayon labeled with my initials. I grabbed the purple, but to my dismay it violet purple. I wanted purple, just plain purple. It's what the worksheet demanded. Frustrated, I went to the back of the room, where my teacher kept jars of spare crayons. I opened the jar containing what appeared to be purple crayons. I grabbed one; it still said violet purple. I grabbed another, and another. I just could not win. I went to a fellow classmate of mine, and asked if he had a purple crayon. He said yes and gave me it. I was happy, but then disappointed when it was labeled violet purple. Really? He told me violet was the same as purple. I disagreed, but finally settled to color the purple areas violet.

201 Ways to Arouse Your Creativity

Found an article by Katie Tallo.

"Creativity is like sex. You fumble your way through, you get lost in it, you fall in love. Both are passionate, rhythmic, pleasurable, and flowing. Both can bear fruit. And both can rack your soul with vulnerability, bliss, fear and awkwardness."

These were my favorites:

1.)Talk to a stuffed animal.
2.) Try free writing.
3.) Take a shower and give yourself a clean start.
4.)Write from a persona.
5.)Go somewhere new with a pen and notebook.
6.)Listen to new music.
7.) Write crap.
8.) Finish something.
9.) Start in the middle.
10.) Work on the title.
11.) Do an info-dump.
12.) Sing in the shower.
13.) Consume information.
14.) Carry a notebook everywhere.
15.) Keep a journal.
16.) Do experiments.
17.)Define a clear purpose.
18.) Clean your working space.
19.)Look at art.
20.) Re-name the colors in a box of crayons.
21.) Go to a coffee shop.
22.) Let go.
23.) Fool around.
24.) Read a page of the dictionary and note odd/unique words.
25.) Don't hold back.

Shakespearian Insults

OWNED!!!!!!! Found here.

Your virginity, your old virginity is like one of our French wither'd pears: it looks ill, it eats drily

[Thou] blunt monster with uncounted heads!

You speak unskilfully: or, if your knowledge be more, it is much darkened in your malice.

O flesh, flesh, how art thou fishified.

There's no more faith in thee than in a stewed prune.

Thou puking half-faced fustilarian!

Thou cockered ill-breeding foot-licker!

I never knew so young a body with so old a head.

Show your sheep-biting face, and be hanged an hour!

Thou currish full-gorged hugger-mugger!

I make as good use of [thine face] as many a man doth of a death's-head, or a momento mori.

[Thine] sole name blisters our tongues.

[You] speak an infinite deal of nothing.

Nightwish: Nemo

Nightwish is my favorite band. They are categorized as European symphonic metal. This song is one of my favorites, and is the inspiration for one of my novels.  I did not write nor compose the song. Just sharing it! Lyrics can be found at their website.

Lyrics:

This is me for forever
One of the lost ones
The one without a name
Without an honest heart as compass
This is me for forever
One without a name
These lines the last endeavor
To find the missing lifeline

Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything

My flower, withered between
The pages 2 and 3
The once and forever bloom gone with my sins
Walk the dark path
Sleep with angels
Call the past for help
Touch me with your love
And reveal to me my true name

Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything
Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
Oh how I wish to dream again
Once and for all
And all for once
Nemo my name forevermore

Nemo sailing home
Nemo letting go

Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything
Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
Oh how I wish to dream again
Once and for all
And all for once
Nemo my name forevermore

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

This is a poem written by Mary Frye in 1932. She wrote it on a shopping bag.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
